Ironworkers Local 37 Endorse Kim Ahern for Attorney General
July 22, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — Today, Ironworkers Local 37 endorsed Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General. Since 1902, Ironworkers Local 37 has been building Rhode Island’s infrastructure and specializing in all aspects of the ironworking trade including structural steel, ornamental, reinforcing, bridges, and welding. Their skilled members have erected some of the region’s most iconic structures, from the Newport Bridge and Mt. Hope Bridge to Foxwoods Resort Casino, Providence Place Mall, and the first-ever offshore wind farm in the United States.
“Throughout her career, Kim Ahern has stood with working people, and as Attorney General she will aggressively enforce wage theft and prevailing wage laws, hold bad actors accountable, and be a true partner to Rhode Island’s union workforce,” said David Langlais, Business Manager/FST of Ironworkers Local 37. “As an ironworker, I know the value of a good union job and the opportunities it creates for families. Kim understands that too. She knows that protecting workers’ rights, defending collective bargaining, and creating pathways into the building trades are essential to Rhode Island’s future. We’re proud to support Kim Ahern for Attorney General because we know she’ll fight for working people every day she’s in office.”
“The members of Ironworkers Local 37 understand what I’ve always believed: that a strong economy starts with respecting the people who build our communities,” said Kim Ahern. “Rhode Island’s tradesmen and women deserve an Attorney General who will stand up for their wages, their rights, and their ability to organize. I’m honored to have the support of our ironworkers and I will always be a champion for working people in our state.”
