Kim Ahern for AG Campaign Announces Sam Bader, Former Executive Director of the RI Democratic Party, as Campaign Manager
January 5, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — The Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General campaign today announced that it has hired Sam Bader as Campaign Manager. Sam most recently served as Executive Director of the Rhode Island Democratic Party (RIDP), where she instituted the RIDP Training Series, oversaw the ratification of the new RIDP Platform, secured special election victories, and reinstated the party’s participation in the RI Pride Parade. Sam previously held roles as Data Director, Communications Specialist, and House Field Director for the state Democratic Party, where she crafted and executed winning field plans for Rhode Island House Democrats and helped deliver a Democratic clean sweep for Rhode Island’s congressional seats and General Officers. She also served as the party’s Democratic National Convention Coordinator during the 2024 presidential campaign, overseeing Rhode Island’s 37-member delegation and acting as liaison with the DNC and the Harris-Walz campaign. Sam is a graduate of the Campaign School at Yale University (’23), America’s premier campaign training program that endeavors to empower more women to enter the political pipeline.
“The Attorney General’s number one job is to keep Rhode Islanders safe, and that role has never been more important than it is right now,” said Sam Bader. “That’s why I am so excited to join Kim Ahern’s campaign – because she has dedicated her entire career to making our community safer and stronger. As the only candidate who has been a criminal prosecutor under the past three attorneys general, the only candidate who has served as legal counsel to the past two governors, and the only candidate who has already run a state agency, Kim’s unparalleled experience makes her uniquely qualified for this critical job.”
“I’m thrilled to welcome Sam to our team and I know that her hands-on experience, keen instincts, and deep relationships across our state will be invaluable to our campaign,” said Kim Ahern. “We are building a strong statewide campaign that will reach every neighborhood and community, and I’m confident that Sam’s experience and vision will help us connect with voters throughout Rhode Island and run a competitive, disciplined campaign.”
Sam joins a growing campaign team with decades of experience working on successful political campaigns in Rhode Island, including media consultant Ann Liston (AL Media), fundraiser Julie Andrews (Julie Andrews & Associates), pollster Jill Normington (Normington Petts), and communications advisor Josh Block (Block Campaigns).
