Kim Ahern Launches First Digital Ad of 2026 AG Race

Press Release

January 22, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — The Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General campaign today released its first digital ad of the 2026 race. The two-minute video, titled “Fighting for Rhode Island,” introduces Kim to Rhode Island voters and highlights her time at Providence College and the Roger Williams School of Law, her work as a clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court, her record as a criminal prosecutor under Rhode Island’s past three attorneys general and as legal counsel to the past two governors, her track record leading a new state agency, and her commitment to defending Rhode Islanders’ fundamental rights in the face of attacks by the Trump administration.

“Since launching our campaign three months ago, I have been overwhelmed by the support our campaign continues to receive as more and more people learn about my background and our vision for the Attorney General’s Office,” said Kim Ahern. “This ad is about building on that momentum and introducing our campaign to more Rhode Islanders in every corner of our state. My entire career has been about fighting for Rhode Islanders’ safety and defending our fundamental rights, and I look forward to bringing my deep experience as a Supreme Court clerk, prosecutor, legal counsel, and chief regulator to the office as Rhode Island’s next Attorney General.”

Over the coming weeks, the Ahern campaign will be promoting this two-minute video, as well as a 30-second version, across social media channels to Rhode Islanders in all 39 cities and towns.

Kim Ahern has served as Special Assistant Attorney General under Rhode Island’s past three attorneys general, where she prosecuted over 1,000 cases and brought justice to hundreds of victims. She also served as legal counsel to the past two governors and as the state’s first Chair of the Cannabis Control Commission.

Referenced in the video are these three cases that Kim prosecuted involving murder and felony assault, child molestation, and animal abuse.
