Kim Ahern Outraises All Other AG Candidates in Final Quarter of Campaign

Press Release

Ahern remains the only candidate who is not self-funded

August 3, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — During the second quarter of 2026, and the last full fundraising quarter before the Democratic primary for Attorney General on September 9th, Kim Ahern raised over $217,000, more than every other candidate for Attorney General.

At the same time, Kim is the only candidate whose campaign is funded entirely by donations and the only candidate not to make a substantial personal loan to her own campaign. By contrast, Rep. Joe Solomon loaned himself $105,000, Rep. Jason Knight loaned himself $113,000, and Keith Hoffmann loaned himself a staggering $550,000.

“I’m proud that our message of keeping Rhode Islanders safe and protecting our fundamental rights continues to resonate with voters across Rhode Island, and I’m grateful for the neighbors in every corner of our state who are supporting our campaign,” said Kim Ahern. “Attorney General is not a job to be bought by the highest bidder, and I’m confident that we have the message, the team, and the ground game that will carry us to victory on September 9th.”

Kim Ahern has served as Special Assistant Attorney General under Rhode Island’s past three attorneys general, where she prosecuted over 1,000 cases and brought justice to hundreds of victims. She also served as legal counsel to the past two governors and as the state’s first Chair of the Cannabis Control Commission. Kim lives in Providence with her wife Jenna and their three daughters.
