August 11, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — Today, the plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians of UA Local 51 endorsed Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General. Local 51 serves a geographic area consisting of all 39 cities and towns in the State of Rhode Island as well as 68 cities and towns in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with a membership that includes 1,286 plumbers, pipefitters and refrigeration technicians.
“Kim Ahern has always shown a deep commitment to protecting Rhode Islanders and standing up for working people,” said Paul Alvarez, Business Manager at UA Local 51. “She understands that strong communities are built by skilled workers, fair wages, safe job sites, and an economy that works for working families. As a union of workers who build and maintain Rhode Island’s infrastructure, we need an Attorney General who will protect workers’ rights, enforce the law fairly, and hold bad actors accountable. Kim Ahern has the experience, integrity, and toughness to do that job, and we are proud to support her campaign for Attorney General.”
“I’m honored to earn the support of the hardworking men and women of UA Local 51 who build, maintain, and strengthen Rhode Island every day,” said Kim Ahern. “I’ve spent my career fighting for working families and holding bad actors accountable, and as Rhode Island’s next Attorney General, I’ll continue partnering with organized labor to ensure our state remains a place where workers are respected, protected, and given every opportunity to succeed.”
