Victory Fund, LPAC Endorse Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General
January 9, 2026 (PROVIDENCE, RI) — The Kim Ahern for Rhode Island Attorney General campaign today announced that it has been endorsed by the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LPAC, two leading national advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. Kim is the only statewide candidate for any office in Rhode Island endorsed by these two groups.
“I have spent my career keeping Rhode Islanders safe and fighting for our fundamental rights, including the rights of our LGBTQ+ neighbors to live and love free from discrimination, and I am honored to be endorsed by these two trailblazing organizations,” said Kim Ahern. “I am particularly proud of my work in the Attorney General’s Office combating hate crimes and leading training sessions with municipal law enforcement officers on LGBTQ+ issues, and I look forward to continuing this work as our state’s next Attorney General.”
Kim Ahern has served as Special Assistant Attorney General under Rhode Island’s past three Attorneys General. She also served as legal counsel to the past two governors and as the state’s first Chair of the Cannabis Control Commission.
If elected, Kim will be the first Democratic woman to serve as Rhode Island Attorney General and the first openly gay Rhode Islander to hold any statewide office.
